Impressive to say the least, but it seems it will come with a hefty price. Development costs will most likely double what we have right now. However, double is not nearly as bad as what Epic feared it would be. Tim Sweeney, Epic Games' chief technology officer, revealed it could have gone much worse.
“If we extrapolate that into creating an entire game, we were worried that the cost would go up by a factor of three or four or even five in the next generation," he said, as reported by Gamesindustry International “And of course, we felt that was not acceptable.”Hopefully we won't see an increase in the cost of next generation games. That is highly unlikely anyways, but it's still a good idea to hope.
