Halo 4 gets new community playlist maps, Spartan Ops episodes

In it's first significant update of the year, 343 released 6 new community maps in the "Community Forge Test" playlist. Despair, Garrotte, Relay, Scythe, Shutout and Simplex are player constructed small-medium sized maps, designed for 4 v 4 action. Players will test these maps using Slayer, Swat, CTF, and KoTH gametypes. 343 has deigned it a "Test" playlist to work out any kinks or bugs in the system for possible future inclusions from the community. If you see any problems you wish to report about these maps or the playlist in general, Halo Waypoint has you covered.

The second half of the Spartan Ops series is also debuting today. Episode 6 is live and looking more badass than ever. With more variety in the missions and locations (desperately needed), the next 5 episodes will be very welcomed after the series break last year. You will need 2.2 GB worth of hard drive space to download the newest Spartan Ops missions, so delete whatever isn't necessary, or throw in a new USB flash drive.

And finally, the update unlocks the first two specializations for players who did not get the limited edition specializations, or receive the bonuses for playing early.

Pioneer

"Spartan optimization for deployment into uncharted, hostile territory (such as uncolonized worlds or forerunner installations) for the purpose of gathering/relaying information."

Pathfinder

"Spartan optimization for deep, unconventional deployment within unknown enemy territory and with little to no assistance from Command."

Two more specializations will be unlocked next Monday, and the final two on February 4th.

"You gotta be kidding me. I have to say  'Crimson' a million times AGAIN?"
