Redbox Instant launching exclusively on Xbox 360

Redbox is well known for its rental service. Kiosks are found easily in many cities, and the prices are fair. However, DVDs are becoming an old technology a lot faster than people planned on. That is why Redbox is now bringing instant streaming to their arsenal.

Teaming up with Microsoft and Xbox Live, gamers can now stream movies to their consoles without having to spend 20 minutes going and renting a movie. Simply click and watch. A Redbox Instant subscription costs $8/month ($9 for blu-ray) and grants you 4 rental credits to use at any Redbox kiosk. Xbox 360 users who do not wish to subscribe can still use the dashboard app to rent, and even purchase, digital movies by selecting individual titles.

Microsoft XBL members can sign up for a 1 month beta trial by simply visiting the Redbox Instant website.

*Xbox LIVE Gold subscription and/or additional subscriptions/fees including a Redbox Instant by Verizon subscription may be required and sold separately. Kinect functionality available with select Xbox LIVE content and varies by feature and country. For additional details and availability, see http://www.xbox.com/live.
